Lurrie Bell is an American blues guitarist and singer (from Chicago USA) performing live at 20 Rocks club during the 2013 Blues Bonanza in Dundee. His father was renowned blues harmonica player Carey Bell.

Inchcoonans Equestrian
Inchcoonans Equestrian is Perthshire’s Premier Competition Yard & Livery Facility. Inchcoonans is situated between the Royal Burgh of Perth which is on the outskirts of the small historical village of Errol. On the 21st May 2017, a wet and rainy day various classes of prize horses from around Tayside and Perth & Kinross are paraded around then take part in the equestrian competitions in Scotland
7th August, 2023. UCI Cycling World Championships: The UCI Cycling World Championships is scheduled to be held in the city of discovery, with a 22.8km route and 89m of climbing. The Gran Fondo Road Race commences on West Grange Road in the east of Dundee. Riders will then cycle north-east on Arbroath Road, which is part of the A92, towards Arbroath before turning north-east at Salmon's Muir, two miles north of Carnoustie, and returning down the A92 to the Dundee finish line
The Monarchs Hockey Team
The Monarchs Hockey team presentations at the West Park Hotel. Formed in 2014 the Monarchs Hockey Club are a Dundee based club, with 3 Men’s outdoor and indoor teams and 1 Ladies team. Monarchs were crowned champions of Indoor National 4 and Indoor National 3 leagues in back-to-back seasons between 2011/12 & 2012/13.
On the 23rd October 2015 the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their official Royal visit to Dundee The City of Discovery. The Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived at the Discovery Point for a brief tour of Captain Scott's 1912 Antarctic expedition ship the RRS Discovery in Dundee Scotland
On the 6th July 2016 Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness Prince Philip arrived at the City of Discovery during their Royal visit to Dundee in Scotland. They were both greeted by Lord Provost Bob Duncan and Lady Lord Provost Brenda Duncan at the Chambers of Commerce in the city centre
